Cash the Biden’s can believe in

It seems Obama and Biden are linked in more ways that sharing a ticket this year:

Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago.

[. . .]

The younger Biden started his career as a lobbyist in 2001 and has registered to represent about 21 clients that have brought in $3.5 million to his Washington firm, according to lobbying disclosure forms.

It appears the Biden family is knee deep in those evil special interests that Obama is always castigating.  That kind of holier than though rhetoric was necessary to appeal to the leftist base of the Democratic primary, but when you have a general election to win, you can’t be so principled.

And it isn’t just running mates where this disconnect exists:

Despite a campaign that attacked corporate and special interest lobbyists as evil and banned their money and participation, Sen. Barack Obama has done little, if anything, about their pervasive, free-spending presence at the Democratic convention in Denver, ethics watchdog groups say.

Add this to the growing list of Obama saying one thing and doing another.
